Unidux Electronics Limited is an associate company of Unidux Inc., which is listed in Japan. Since our beginnings in 1989 in Singapore, we have been supplying the Asia Pacific region with electronic components.
Our growth was rapid. When we start operations, our turnover was a modest $1 million for the first year. Today, our turnover is well over S$100 million per year. We have grown from a force of 2 people to more than 80 today.
Milestones
1989: Incorporation
Unidux Electronics Pte Ltd
Unidux Electronics began life as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Unidux Inc., which wanted to establish a business presence in Singapore to service customers in Singapore and Malaysia.
1995: Regional Expansion Started
Unidux (HK) Limited
As part of our expansion plan, we started to set up offices in the region, beginning with Unidux (HK) Limited, which was set up to serve our customers in Hong Kong and Southern People's Republic of China ("PRC").
1999: Malaysia Operations Started
Unidux (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
We set up our Penang office, Unidux (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., to service customers located north of Kuala Lumpur ("KL"). Customers located in KL and south of KL were served from Singapore.
2001: Listed on the Singapore Exchange
Unidux Electronics Limited
Unidux Electronics was successfully listed on the SGX Sesdaq after we issued a total of 19.2 million new shares, which comprised 16.11% of the Group's enlarged share capital at 20 cents per share. Net proceeds of approximately S$2.82 million were raised for the Group. The offer to the public was approximately 26.86 times subscribed.
2001: Shenzhen Representative Office
Unidux (HK) Limited, ShenZhen Office
Our second PRC office in Shenzhen commenced operations on 1 June 2001. This strategic development serves to boost the Group's presence in the PRC market.
2001: Thailand Office
We established our presence in Thailand in Bangsaothong District to better service our Thailand customers and to tap the Thailand market.
2002: Formation of Prohub
Procurement Hub Pte Ltd
We announced the transfer of our Procurement Services Business into Unidux Technologies Pte Ltd, which was our information technology ("IT") and IT services subsidiary, and renamed it Procurement Hub Pte Ltd (or "ProHub"). The aim of this restructuring is to allow greater focus on our Procurement Business Services to benefit from the secular trend of outsourcing of procurement activities by manufacturers.
